Wairere falls track reopens after more than a year
A popular Waikato walking track that takes people to the top of a 150m metre waterfall is reopening after being closed for more than a year due to safety concerns. The Wairere Falls track starts at the base of the Kaimai Mamaku ranges near Matamata. It was closed in June last year after rockfall activity and instability was discovered. Matamata-Piako district council mayor Ash Tanner spoke to Lisa Owen.
