Proposed New Women and Children's Homeless Shelter Raises Concerns

A newly planned emergency accommodation centre for women and children in Ennis is generating a mixed reaction.

Concerns have been raised in a public consultation process about safeguarding, vetting, alcohol and drug use.

Clare County Council in its design statement is assuring the provider will factor all concerns in its management plan.

Others commenting on Clare FM's coverage of the story, have questioned whether the busy junction on Station Road is an appropriate for safe location.

Cllr Clare Colleran Molloy and Siobhán O'Connor, Clare Haven Director, joined Derrick Lynch to discuss the proposal.
