On the morning of May 3rd, 1973, a man out walking his dog in Key Largo, Florida, stepped into a stretch of woods about a hundred yards off U.S. 1. Near mile marker 99.5, under a layer of sticks, leaves and dirt, he found two teenage girls. They were sisters. Maggie Jenkins was 18. Mary Jenkins was 16. For 53 years, nobody could say who stopped for them. This September, that finally changed.
