The Retirement Clock Is Ticking: When Is Enough, Enough?19. Okt.30 Min.

I want to begin today's program with a question I've asked countless clients throughout my 36-year career.

What are you waiting for?

You've worked for 35 or 40 years. You've raised your family, paid your bills, put your children through college, saved your money, and invested for retirement.

Now you're 65, maybe 67, maybe even 70 years old.

You've accumulated a substantial retirement portfolio. Your house may be paid off. Social Security is available. And your financial plan tells us you have enough money to retire comfortably.

But you keep working.

Why?

Maybe I'll work another year. Maybe I'll wait until the market improves. Maybe I'll wait until I have another $200,000 saved.

And here's what I often tell people:

You can always make more money. But you cannot make more time.

Today's show isn't simply about retirement planning. It's about life planning.

Because the biggest retirement mistake might not be running out of money.

It might be running out of time before you ever get to enjoy it.
