Why is Elmo doing Lorne Michaels? SNL x Sesame Street

Johnny Mac covers a bizarre Saturday Night Live collaboration with Sesame Street, then notes Bill Hader voices the Cat in the Hat in a new animated film (in theaters Nov. 6) and says the high-energy voice work is exhausting and unlike his 2014 SNL version, with no inspiration from Mike Myers’ take. Former SNL cast member Chloe Troast discusses on the But Also podcast why she felt relief after being fired following one season, citing behind-the-scenes comments that created dread and anxiety, while also saying coworkers later supported her; she has since appeared in projects including Tina Fey’s The Four Seasons. Larry the Cable Guy says Fox News and others took his MeatEater podcast remarks out of context. Mac questions why few upcoming stand-up specials are dated across platforms, mentions Ali G: Who Is I? is already on Prime after weak box office, reports Eric Idle canceled an Australia/New Zealand tour on doctors’ advice, urges voting, shares a Will Ferrell Madison stop story, and highlights Chloe Radcliffe’s Comedy Central billboard campaign aimed at old crushes.
