Irish Illustrated Interviews: CBS Sports & 247Sports NFL Draft Analyst Mike Renner
The 29th episode of Irish Illustrated Interviews shares an interview with Mike Renner, who recently became 247Sports' lead NFL Draft Analyst. He also covers the annual player selection meeting for CBS Sports.
The conversation covers how an accounting major at Notre Dame became the lead voice for Pro Football Focus's NFL Draft coverage six years after graduating in 2012.
The duo also dives into his midseason 2027 NFL Draft Big Board, which ranked the top 150 prospects. Seven of those play for Notre Dame:
No. 2 Leonard Moore, CB
No. 10 CJ Carr, QB
No. 29 Boubacar Traore, ED
No. 36 Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa, LB
No. 43 Jordan Faison, WR
No. 71 Francis Brewu, DT
No. 83 Anthonie Knapp, IOL
Later, the episode discusses two draft-eligible former blue-chip prospects, offensive tackle Guerby Lambert and defensive end Bryce Young, and why they’re not yet pro-ready.
Renner also highlights two underclassmen who’ve caught his eye as prospects for future big boards: running back Jonaz Walton and cornerback Jayden Sanders.
