Cutting of the Head off the Cult, HYDRA and the FLDS | Profiling Evil| Profiling Evil

Warren Jeffs was captured and sentenced to life in prison for sexually assaulting underage girls in Texas and many wondered if the polygamist cult was done for. But Samuel Bateman created his own religious offshoot with more than twenty women and girls as spiritual wives. His fifty-year federal sentence for sexual exploitation and kidnapping of children essentially cut another head of the FLDS snake. So why does the snake keep growing more heads, just like HYDRA from the Marvel Comics? At least six other FLDS men have also been convicted of serious crimes. The head of the snake keeps growing back and despite those convictions, loyal followers continue to regard these men as prophets, persecuted servants and religious martyrs?Let’s examine the law-enforcement strategy commonly described as “cutting off the head of the snake.” Arresting Warren Jeffs prevented him from personally supervising the FLDS, but it did not eliminate the theology, family relationships, economic dependencies and psychological conditioning that supported his authority. Jeffs continues communicating from prison, while intermediaries claim the authority to interpret or distribute his instructions. The weakening of his organization creates opportunities for rival prophetic claimants such as Samuel Bateman to thrive. I’m going to borrow a comparison from Marvel Comics and its fictional organization HYDRA, where removing one head never guarantees that the organization has been defeated. See how an authoritarian movement can fragment, reproduce its leadership and survive the physical removal of its most visible figure and turn a common convicted predator into a martyr.#WarrenJeffs #SamuelBateman #FLDS #ProfilingEvil #MikeKing #TrueCrime #ReligiousAbuse #CoerciveControl #HighControlGroup #Polygamy #ChildAbuse #ChildExploitation #CriminalProfiling #BehavioralAnalysis #MarvelComics #HYDRA #Hildale #ColoradoCity #ShortCreek #YFZRanch #UnitedEffortPlan #ReligiousTrauma #VictimAdvocacy #JusticeForSurvivors #GIS #Esri #ArcGIS #hydra #marvel ========================================20% OFF Newspapers.comhttps://www.newspapers.com/go/podcast/?ref=profilingevil?xid=8877&utm_source=ProfilingEvilPodcast&utm_medium=podcst&utm_campaign=ProfilingEvil26========================================Discounts on eBikes: https://aipasbike.com/?ref=PROFILINGEVILReferral Coupon Code: PROFILINGEVIL========================================Email your questions to: ProfilingEvil@gmail.com========================
