How God can use the dead to redeem Halloween
Halloween offers a rare moment when a death-avoidant culture becomes openly fascinated with mortality, cemeteries, and the afterlife. Christians once worshiped among the graves of fellow believers, viewing death through the hope of resurrection rather than fear, and even Halloween itself developed partly through Christian efforts to redirect pagan traditions toward faith. Today, the holiday can still create opportunities to talk about death and eternal hope—but engaging it wisely requires discernment rather than either embracing everything or avoiding it out of fear.
