Hypnosis to Find Value in Criticism, Panning for Gold

Adam introduces a session built for a client whose partner’s feedback felt emotionally loaded, triggering defensiveness and avoidance of conversation altogether. He reframes criticism as being like panning for gold: most of what’s said is pebbles and silt, but occasionally there’s a nugget of value worth finding, and defensiveness prevents access to it. The induction guides the listener to observe past triggering moments from a distance, recognising that strong reactions come from valuing the feedback too much rather than too little, and from interpreting it as proof of failing to meet a standard. The session reframes criticism as a gift of information that can be gratefully received, tested, and kept or discarded, without needing to live by it, closing with suggestions of composure, security and self-set standards rather than people-pleasing diplomacy from others.

In this session:

Panning for gold (criticism reframe)

Sword of Damocles (powerlessness under others’ words)

Birthday card metaphor (receiving without being bound)

📖 Read more about this session, with the full transcript: https://thehypnotistpodcast.com/episode/hypnosis-to-find-value-in-criticism-panning-for-gold/

FREE STUFF AND DISCOUNTS:

🎁 Get $25 to Spend at The Hypnotist Store

Choose from over 1,000 hypnosis downloads and use the code WELCOME to get $25 off your first order, enough to get two downloads completely free.

Get 50% off a consultation call with Adam using the code PODCAST.
