Trading Week Wrap Up! – 10/16/26
Tesla's Roadster is making headlines, inflation is keeping traders on edge, earnings season is heating up, and apparently I've upset a few XRP investors!
Just another week in the financial markets!
On today's TraderMerlin, we're wrapping up the biggest stories of the week, examining what they mean for traders and investors, and taking a look at the trades I've made along the way.
And yes, we're going to have a little fun with some of the XRP hate mail I received after questioning aspects of the cryptocurrency's decentralization and network structure!
Because asking tough questions about an investment shouldn't be controversial. It should be standard practice!
Here's what's on today's agenda:
Tesla Roadster (TSLA): The long-awaited next-generation Roadster is back in the spotlight! What do we know about the launch plans, and can Tesla deliver on its ambitious promises? XRP Hate Mail: My recent discussion about Ripple, XRP validators and decentralization generated some passionate responses. Let's separate the facts from the emotions! Inflation Pressure: Are rising costs and stubborn inflation creating another headache for the Federal Reserve? What could this mean for interest rates, bonds and equities? Earnings Season: Corporate earnings are rolling in! Are companies delivering the growth investors expect, or are valuations getting ahead of fundamentals? My Trades This Week: I'll review my recent trades, explain the reasoning behind them, and discuss what worked, what didn't and what I'm watching next. Market Outlook: Where are the S&P 500, Nasdaq, commodities and cryptocurrencies heading as we approach another trading week? And here's something I think is especially important.
Markets don't care how emotionally attached you are to an investment.
Whether it's Tesla, XRP, Nvidia or your favorite stock, the goal should always be the same: evaluate the facts, understand the risks and make informed decisions.
That means questioning bold corporate promises, examining blockchain governance, challenging expensive stock valuations and recognizing when economic conditions are changing.
Being bullish on a company or cryptocurrency doesn't mean you have to defend everything about it!
We'll connect the dots between the week's biggest headlines, discuss the opportunities and risks ahead, and finish with a review of my own trading activity.
