Old Time Radio Detective — Broadway Is My Beat: "Decker Murder Case" (1954) | Full Episode

Broadway Is My Beat was CBS radio's noir portrait of New York's "gaudiest, most violent, loneliest mile in the world," with Larry Thor as Detective Danny Clover and scripts by Morton Fine and David Friedkin. In this August 1954 case, a once-feared gangster turned panhandler is fished out of the East River with a knife in his back. Clover works the bars of Third Avenue, a Broadway informant in a borrowed Hawaiian shirt, and a widow with a young admirer who quotes Cyrano. Where did a broke bum get $5,000, and who ended up holding the knife? Sheldon Leonard guest stars.
